Thank you for that prompt Ralph, appreciated.
However, already tried that yesterday, among many other things.
After changing directory, then ./rpcemu it returned "No such file or
directory.

The rpcemu install directory contains the following:
hostFS   (Dir)
poduleroms   (Dir)
riscos-progs   (Dir)
rom   (Dir) Has the legit bought RO 4.02 ROM
src   (Dir)

cmos.ram
hd4.hdf
hdboot.txt
readme.tat
rpc.cfg

... I have a vague recollection it was a file, blue in colour and diamond
shaped... 

BTW. Despite going through the install process twice yesterday, installed
to different named Dirs, they both have the same Dir/file structure... and
obviously neither will do anything.
