So, I now have a good working copy of RPCEmu running under Ubuntu 9.10

Now the strange bit.

If I double click the rpcemu (executable) Blue diamond file, it boots up
correctly.

If I create a link to it and drop that link on the desk top, then double
clicking that link runs rpcemu, but when it's finished loading the hd and
Boot have not been actioned or run.
Thus the HD is just "4" not HardDrive4 which it should be, and the
question asked when it's clicked upon, "...Has this Hd been formatted?"

Examining the properties for that shortcut link shows the correct path to
the Blue diamond rpcemu inside the RPCEmu container directory.

Back to the RPCEmu container directory and double click the rpcemu
executable, and RPCEmu arrives on screen correctly.

Intriguing, but I don't now why this should be happening?
