Hi David,
cc RPCEmu list
I'm having issues with the pre-compiled build on my MacBook
OSX10.5.6.
I'm using the 'contributed build' downloaded from
http://marutan.net/rpcemuspoon/
(version 0.8.6 as I can see). When I first ran it it asked for a
directory location, and I mistakenly clicked on an incorrect one. Now
I'm getting the error
That directory in Preferences is the Data Directory and contains the
required 'rom' directory, by default it is in:-
~/Library/Application Support
The 'rom' directory is already present.
Some of that is from memory so there is some scope for error, but hope
it helps.
That's great - thanks. I managed to get the rom set up in there, and
RPCEmu reads it and boots up. However, it does become unstable after a
few minutes and tends to crash (even if I'm not doing anything).
I'm using the 4.02 ROM from RiscoLtd. I have got this working in an
older port of RPCEmu (http://www.g7jjf.com/rpcemu.htm) which doesn't
have all the options available in the pre-compiled build from http://marutan.net/rpcemuspoon/
. If possible, it would be nice to use the newer version.
The errors from 0.8.6 can happen a little differently each time, but
basically what happens is one or more of:
1) A message pain from within RISCOS appears and says "Application may
have gone wrong. Click Continue to try to resume, or Quit to stop the
application".
2) A message pain from RPCEmu appears (a Mac error window) and says
"RPCEmu Error: Bad opcode 34 53464441 at 1C07354"
3) If I reset the Risc PC from within RPCEmu, the mouse is locked to
the top right-hand-side of the emulator window. I need to quit and
then re-start.
4) Sometimes the mouse click is non-functioning - I can move it
around, but can't open anything.
Usually with 1) & 2) are connected, so first 1 happens, then 2.
I was attempting to follow the instructions with the 4.02 ROM to
extract the contents of RO4disc,ff8 to the virtual hard disk
(replacing the cmos.ram and hd4.hdf with files from the file
hdboot.zip found at b-em.bbcmicro.com/arculator). In this case I was
able to get the error "Internal error: abort on data transfer at
&021080B8". Then error 2 above occurred.
Any suggestions?
Many thanks,
Luke
