I'm running Linux Mint 17 64bit Quiana with XFCE (dual booted with
Windows 8.1 but that shouldn't make a difference ?) on an HP with iCore3
processor.

Neither the 0.8.11 release nor the mercurial latest show that error here
with a 32bit MATE Linux Mint 17 Qiana on VMware Fusion on Mavericks on a
Mac.
All I had to do on the clean Linux Mint install was get Allegro4 (and hg).
I have no idea what this "Unknown `--is-lightweight' option" stuff is
about!! A file src.missing does exist.
If you let me know exactly which Mint download is in use I can give it a try
but it will have to wait a bit it is much more important to listen the the
Proms this evening.
