There isn't a way to turn off logging. However it shouldn't be generating
10GB files, that's a bug. What is in the log?

It's not very easy to see - because once I notice it's done it, my machine is almost unusable as it has zero free space! Next time it happens (it's fairly frequent), I'll try moving the log file onto a USB stick instead of deleting it, and then I'll try to open it on another machine.

I promise not to paste a 10GB file here. ;)
