BTW, "a good magician never reveals his secret; the unbelievable trick
becomes simple and obvious once it is explained." So too with the usual
amount of Autoconf glue I code... ;-)
The stuff still needs a little bit more polishing and especially some
additional in-depth testing before I'll be prepared to finally commit
it to HEAD. But then it will give us the long awaited flexibility in
building RPM 5 against the various third-party libraries...
