The primary known incompatibility with rpm-4.5 is whether
rpmrc files should be read by default.
Reverting to existing "traditional" behavior is (at worst) a 10 line
change.
OTOH, preserving existing behavior without reading rpmrc files can be
achieved by merging macro configuration into the default rpm-4.5
configuration.
