Originally reported at https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1729382 but
filing here for discussion and release tracking - this is a release blocker
issue.
Short summary is that the new threaded build code can easily run out of memory
doing file compression, causing previously working builds to semi-reproducably
fail for no good reason. This can happen on any system given sufficiently large
number of sub-packages and lowish memory, but on 32bit platforms the address
space is the primary limiting factor.
