Oops, I got this wrong:

Mkosi doesn't require the *target* OS's package manager. It uses the *native* 
one, whichever it is on the host you're building the image on. The issue I 
wanted to get across was that the package *selection* is still tied to the 
native package manager (e.g. APT on Ubuntu).
