Yeah, I've seen those at one point or another. 

spec-helper is equally inflexible as rpm's `%__os_install_post` method, and has 
these inconsistently named environment variable disablers. It's what more or 
less inspired the current disabling scheme in rpm though 
(9dbdefb933b8871c9e4f598ff77510e6d5662c1b)

The drop-in mechanism in brp-suse is obviously by far the most flexible, but 
lacks any means to disable an individual brp-script from a package. I find it 
surprising this works for them, as my experience with the brp scripts is that 
no matter what you do in that space, it *always* breaks somebody's package and 
they need a disabler.
