I did something like this myself in the past a few times. But a few days ago
I thought: Hey, this removes the subscribers to the mailing list out of the
loop. Do we want that? I tend to say "no".
yeah, the right thing to do it's assign the review to the reviewer and
keep mailing list on CC.

Just a note: We should write things/decisions like this properly down
somewhere in the wiki. Otherwise people will make things wrong more
often then needed and we avoid discussing question like this again and
again over time.
