Some of the work seems already done: - alsa-plugins: looking at arch seems to indicate this can be fixed by updating to 1.0.28 - vlc: https://projects.archlinux.org/svntogit/packages.git/tree/trunk/vlc-2.1.5-ffmpeg-2.4.patch?h=packages/vlc
