So, I updated stepmania to pcre2 (-14), and bullied a LLM to produce a fix
for the ffmpeg crossfade crash (-15).

I thought about forking SM on github and collect my (and archlinux
maintainer's) patches there for non-Fedora users as well. Looking at
the upstream repo I found out that upstream woke up from the dormant state
few weeks ago (before that, last commit was from 2022 or so).
They also have a (slightly different) fix for the ffmpeg crossfade crash.

So for now the stepmania package in rpmfusion is usable for upcoming
Fedora versions, and does not crash on crossfades on F44+ anymore.
I plan to send the pcre2 patch upstream and update the rpmfusion sources
to their git HEAD.

I don't like Python; its lack of inline, anonymous, multi-statement
functions makes me sad. --Eric Wastl
