I've never seen anything like that on my system. I wonder if there's still some conflicting remnants from atrpms? You'll have to start with the Xorg.0.log and follow the trail from there. If you have an /etc/X11/xorg.conf, try moving it to xorg.conf.backup and restarting X. Richard
