I often create DVD .iso files. Today's vlc update in f24 segfaults

It looks to me as if this is an upstream issue.

vlc 3.0.0-0.1.fc24 works for me. 3.0.0-0.15 does not.

Initially I thought that it was failing to find my DVD in a catalogue. That
doesn't seem to be what's wrong. Both versions complain about BDMV. The
downgraded version reports core/chain filter errors with 'too high level of
recursion' in the menu but does then follow the menu and play. 0.15 'fails
to authenticate' and segfaults.

Your issue seems related to the latest vlc probably using a different
video rendering that previous vlc.
Can you reproduce with a new vlc config directory ? (ie: remove ~/.config/vlc)

Also can you report which hardware/driver you are using ?
This would be better sorted in a bugzilla.rpmfusion.org report.

Thx

ps: playing a dvd on latest vlc on fedora 24 works for me with nvidia.
I will try on others devices as my time permit.

Thanks. Quick response. No change after renaming ~/.config/vlc*.
nvidia 304.134 GeForce 7500 LE (not vdpau capable)
Triggered bug report not submittable to Fedora because from vlc
