If I can replicate the problem on a system I have access to today, I will try the test build.  If not, I can test it in about 10 hours on the original system where the problem showed up.

Unfortunately I have the same exact problem, Fedora is failing and Debian is working. On Fedora the interface is there, It just cannot pass traffic. enp0s3 looks like this on the guest:

fc42$ ip a
...snip lo...
2: enp0s3: <BROADCAST,MULTICAST,UP,LOWER_UP> mtu 1500 qdisc fq_codel state UP group default qlen 1000

I explicitly did this on the host also to be sure:

$ sudo akmods --rebuild --force
[sudo] password for admin:
Checking kmods exist for 6.16.4-200.fc42.x86_64 [ OK ]
Building and installing VirtualBox-kmod                    [  OK  ]
   7581 pts/0    S+     0:00 grep --color=auto kmod
$ sudo systemctl restart vboxdrv.service

These are my VirtualBox packages now:

$ rpm -qa | grep VirtualBox
