rrdtool last will tell you the timestamp of the last update. You can
compare it with your current timestamp and use that to decide whether to
update or withdraw.

Subject: [rrd-users] ERROR: minimum one second step problem w/ rrdtool
update

Can anyone help me with the problem I am having with rrdtool update?

Whenever I try to add 2 values into the db, I get the error saying:

illegal attempt to update using time 1015986160 when last update time is
1015986160 (minimum one second step time)

I searched the archives and I found that rrdtool can not update into the
past, but my question is; how do I avoid this? Is there any kind of work
around?

Thanks for the help in advance.
