HeartBeat and min,max are defined at the time of rrd creation...they are not
directly used in graphs but are very important from data manupluation point
of view.

We can have many variables in the same graphs, that is not a problem, not
sure what exactly you want to ask ?

When creating a graph where would the min, max, and heartbeat be put? What
if you have two varibles? For example, input and output measurements.
