Having run 6 weeks now the graphs are perfect:-)) I've reset the counter (as can happen for real). Now I have no graphs, just flat lines, with a single spike when the counter was reset. So the resetting of the counter appears to have 'wiped out' 6 weeks of history.
using rrdtool info on the rrd and looking at the time the counter was reset I can't see a spike in the data, the value is 50(ish) on each increment. I must be missing something but I can't see what it is!!!!
