It would be very useful for me to have a -donothing flag which would parse the input to make sure it is all valid, including DS names and graphing args etc, but not actually do the update|graph etc.
I have a config file that contains commands to send to rrdtool graph|create|update etc. I parse for syntax but not semantics. A flag like I describe would be very useful. I looked at the documentation and did not see anyting like this. I would like to add it to the "wishlist" for future development, if possible.
