We could also say "The RFC publication language is English." and then something like Martin Thomson has here. Repetitious, but very clear.

I'm finding it impossible to determine rough consensus on whether to include a sentence about English in draft-rswg-rfc7997bis. Earlier, it seemed quite strong that the WG wanted to leave this to the RFC Editor Style Guide; now there are many voices saying things about a possible sentence for draft-rswg-rfc7997bis.

Please say (again) what you want for draft-rswg-rfc7997bis, and the chairs will determine the consensus.

Solely from what has been said so far, I'm hearing that people do want a mention of English as the document language in this document. I think it would be "surprising" if the RPC decided to start publishing non-English documents themselves without RSWG OK, which sounds to me like "RFCs are in English" is already a policy, not just a style decision. The interesting thing is that it's not documented anywhere I can find. So maybe it's worth saying in this document.
