Do you mean that the folders are on the windows machine, and you're
using the Linux smbfs filesystem to make the available on Linux?

Too many of which resources?  What happens?  How many files are in the
directory, and what is the total size?  Where are you copying it to?
Are you running rsync on the Linux machine, or somewhere else?
