Thanks for the reply, this version of rsync is going to be used by a group of people, I need to convince them that this is not a real error, do you have any document which talks about this rsync behavior ?
Or where I can found information explains those error messages ?

Running rsync without any options *is* a syntax error. If all you want
to see is the help, use the --help option.
