It won't break -- you'll just miss out on the protocol 31 improvements that would occur between 3.1.x clients. For instance, nsec timestamp preservation, deleted/created info in the --stats, improved exit message propagation, etc. You may well find that trade-off acceptable, at least for now. ..wayne..
