Hi Bill, I just happened by pure luck to see your note to the rsync
list regarding rsync-2.4.3 getting stuck.
I wanted you to know that shortly after rsync-2.4.3 was released, I
found it to be unusable because of a similar problem -- it would get
stuck even between two Solaris 2.x hosts (using rsh transport) at the
same site. It seemed like other people (from combing the list archive)
had had various issues with 2.4.3, so I decided to purge all my 2.4.3
binaries. I didn't have any time to try and analyze exactly why 2.4.3
would get stuck;
I've been using rsync-2.4.1 exclusively for the past few months, and
have not had any significant problems with it. (If you want to try
my copies of 2.4.1, run /net/orca/pvpv/bin/rsync)
If/when a new version is available that fixes the major issues, I will
be happy to migrate (but will need to test first). Larry C.
