How rsync do it

[AFRIZAL-IPTN]

  I am a new comer in rsync.
  I use LINUX(my machine name : IT-research.
  I want to rsync my data from AIX ( machine name : itlabsgi1)

  I try :
  rync italbsgi1:file_name.txt file.txt
I got message like this
  rsync: ERROR: Illegal option -- -        
  usage: rsync [-c command] [-r rcsdir] [-Rv]
[dirname ...]
unexpected EOF in read_timeout   
 
   some thing wrong my command?
   I hope some one can help me.
