What are those loss in running rsync-stunnel as compared to rsync-over-ssh
that you mentioned here ?? tell me more about "slung behind a stunnel"

An rsync --daemon could be slung behind a stunnel, if you really
wanted to go to the effort. But there's no benefit, and some loss of
functionality, compared to the classing rsync-over-ssh. Someone else
on this list recently posted their experiences trying to run rsync
over stunnel; you could look for that. If you have trouble turning
it up email me and I'll dig it out of my archives.
