Hi there, I've spent a long time picking through changelogs, but I'm afraid I don't have a clear understanding of what to choose between versions of rsyslog.
My platform is RHEL 5 - the distro ships with 2.0 which seems to be both ancient and deprecated. If I have to build a new package, it would be good to understand which version I should choose. For example. Rawhide has a 4.x package, which would be the obvious starting point. My overall objective is to be able to aggregate syslog and also Drupal watchdog logs in a central location, and index them with Solr, to produce a data mart/wharehouse.
