Hi all,

We have just released rsyslog 5.6.1, the new v5-stable.

This update addresses the TLS bug, that has been bothering a lot of users
lately. It stops rsyslog from looping, thus disabling functionality and
bearing the risk of unresponsiveness of the whole system. More details about
this issue can be found here:

http://bugzilla.adiscon.com/show_bug.cgi?id=194
<http://bugzilla.adiscon.com/show_bug.cgi?id=194>

Other issues have been fixed for imptcp, failing testbench, segfault on empty
templates and failed compile. For more detailed information, please review
the ChangeLog.

We strongly recommend to use this release if you are using (or planning to
use) syslog with TLS enabled.

=======

Improving rsyslog is costly, but you can help! We are looking for
organizations that find rsyslog useful and wish to contribute back. You can
contribute by reporting bugs, improve the software, or donate money or
equipment.

Commercial support contracts for rsyslog are available, and they help finance
continued maintenance. Adiscon GmbH, a privately held German company, is
currently funding rsyslog development. We are always looking for interesting
development projects. For details on how to help, please see
