I need to move my rsyslog logs to another partition. Depending on how exactly I do this, rsyslog might be down for a bit (5-20 minutes). Someone told me that certain software (e.g., squid, I think) will stop if logging fails. If that is true, this downtime of rsyslog could be very disruptive at our institution.
Does anyone have any knowledge or experience of this?
