I'm sorry to ask a question seemingly this bad:

I installed 7.2.1 with the RPM packages on a new install of Redhat, so I didn't
see a step by step on how to install it. Therefore, I guess I'm not sure how
to answer the question of which "components" I am using, because I used
whatever was installed with the RPMs.

I got the debug log in the meantime; however, there is NO error in the debug
log!

This smells a bit like you manually used the right pathes, whereas something
with the install seems to be incorrect for the non-debug log version. Can you
verify that you used the same config file AND that used the same installed
component?
