Yeah, the queue.type parameter is not set, so it is default, so it is "direct". Thus we do not have a real queue associated. I agree rsyslog should probably check queue parameters are set, but the queue type not. That's usually an error.
I read David's note first and it poked me to look more closely. That was exactly the problem. Since it is only "usually an error" I really don't think there is much to change in rsyslog itself. It would be something to add to a rlintian type check.
