Redhat 6 provides rsyslog7 packages alongside the 5.8 version, you shouldn't have to dowload them from elsewhere.
rsyslog7.x86_64 : Enhanced system logging and kernel message trapping daemon rsyslog7-elasticsearch.x86_64 : ElasticSearch output module for rsyslog rsyslog7-gnutls.x86_64 : TLS protocol support for rsyslog rsyslog7-gssapi.x86_64 : GSSAPI authentication and encryption support for rsyslog rsyslog7-mysql.x86_64 : MySQL support for rsyslog rsyslog7-pgsql.x86_64 : PostgresSQL support for rsyslog rsyslog7-relp.x86_64 : RELP protocol support for rsyslog rsyslog7-snmp.x86_64 : SNMP protocol support for rsyslog I believe you should install rsyslog7-relp : rpm -qpl rsyslog7-relp-7.4.10-3.el6_6.x86_64.rpm /lib64/rsyslog/imrelp.so /lib64/rsyslog/omrelp.so Maybe I am missing something.
