remove log.file and the logs will show up in rsyslog just like any other log and
can be forwarded like any other log.

no, impstats go directly into the queue, they don't arrive via tcp or udp.
you can send them out via either, just like any other log.
I may be misunderstanding what you are seeing, can you try going into more
