I have a remote TCP log setup as follows to log to a syslog-ng server:

*.* action(
        type="omfwd"
        target="eyes" # replace with server hostname or IP
        port="514"
        protocol="tcp"
        TCP_Framing="Octet-counted"
   #    device="lo:1"
)

'eyes' is defined in /etc/hosts, and it works if I don't set the device for the source IP. Running syslog under debug gives an error about it being unable to bind.

root@DonPie:~# ifconfig lo:1
lo:1: flags=73<UP,LOOPBACK,RUNNING>  mtu 65536
        inet 192.168.3.200  netmask 255.255.255.255
        loop  txqueuelen 1000  (Local Loopback)

Is there something I'm doing wrong in this configuration?

btw I tried to search the logs, but it seems they are private/not indexed by google.
