Manufacturing Engineer

Job Description
'Manufacturing Engineer with Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering and 
atleast 4+ years of work experience in Medical Device industry.
The individual will be an important member of engineering team in Manufacturing 
and will provide manufacturing engineering support for the General Srugical 
Product line.
The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible in supporting cost savings, 
redesign, manufacturing process improvements, instrument trouble shooting and 
product line transfers.
Will need to follow and develop best practices and standard procedures.

Primary Skills
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Support Manufacturing and Project Engineering leads for activities in 
accordance with standard operating procedures.
- Perform root cause analysis through a structured approach supported with 
testing data.
- Participant in DFMEA, PFMEA, and CTQ processes assuring specifications are 
well defined and documented.
- Proficient in protocol and report writing.
- Work with vendors on part issues.
- Communicate  and coordinate activities with multiple functional groups both 
within and outside of operations.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
- Designs manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for 
assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling.
- Designs arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most 
efficient and productive layout.
- Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication 
of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance.
- Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.
- May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan.
- Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their 
efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and 
deficiencies to ensure product quality.
- Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process 
control, and may develop those techniques.
- Provides guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification 
requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
- Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.

Secondary Skills
Must Have Skills:
- Must versed in capacity modeling, time-studies, balance tables, and flexible 
work-cell development
- Must have Packaging development and validation knowledge
- Must be skilled with Excel, MS Project, AutoCAD, and ERP Systems
- Six Sigma tools
- Lean Manufacturing concepts
- Strong written and verbal communications (including presentation skills)
- Understanding of financial analysis
- Standard cost development
- Proficiency in Microsoft Visio and Word

Any specific industry experience
