This position is an information technology support role that will evaluate existing and new requirements for both ABAP Development and SAP functional configuration within our SAP ERP platform. This position also performs support activities involving incident management, change management, and project support. The primary role of this position is to develop and support all ERP related business processes and tools using custom programming code, SAP functional configuration, and API integrations. This role requires adherence to operational development best practices in order to maintain business continuity throughout the change management process. *Essential Functions* Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The primary focus with SAP ABAP and configuration within various modules. Conducts technical reviews of proposed application development activities. Advises as to feasibility, programming, and database design approach, and applicable functional configuration. Actively participates within project teams by reviewing technical requirements and interpreting how to implement. Coordinates activities with external strategic partners and/or assigned business analyst, as required, for the development and deployment of approved system changes and new solutions. Diagnoses root cause for technical problems experienced by IT, staff and end users. Monitors developed solutions through the post-implementation stage. Ensures all standards, documentation, and procedures have been followed in support of all assigned project objectives. Develops new or changes to existing ABAP reports, programs, and routines within the current ERP platform. Gathers user requirements, analyze system configuration, and propose enhanced solutions that better meet business and user needs. Provides end-user software training and support. Collaborate with 3rd party developers and affiliated IT staff on technical support issues and improvements. Perform functional testing and technical testing for platform patches and upgrades. Periodically function as primary contact/coordinator of ERP related incidents. Maintain documentation for new solutions and changes to existing solutions within the SAP ERP platform. *Other Duties* *· * Performs other job duties as assigned. *Customer Service Commitment* employees shall continuously strive to meet or exceed the expectations of both their internal and external customers. Database Principles – Must be familiar with DB best practices and design. *Supervisory Responsibility* None *Required Education, Skills & Experience* Bachelor’s degree with an information technology emphasis. Three to five years of experience within SAP ECC 6.0 ABAP/4 programming. Functional configuration in the area(s) of FI/CO, PS, CS, MM, or IS-U CIC is a plus. Note: An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in meeting the requirements of qualifications. Proficient with SAP debugging and analysis tools. Experienced with API integration with SAP ERP, and cloud solutions via service-oriented architecture (SOA) and microservices is a plus Successful interface design experience using UX principals. Ability to self-learn by researching, enrollment in continued education, and deploying new development technologies within the technical frameworks of IT. Must have experience with SAP transport management principals and has deep understanding of SAP’s client topology concepts. Must have a strong understanding of application development using various SDLC methodologies. Must be familiar and have experience within Project Management Organizations (PMO). Must maintain a strong understanding of applications architecture to include hardware, software/utilities, database design, security, and communications protocols. Must have administrative knowledge of database management systems and database concepts. Must have knowledge of PC and client/service applications including ERP, e-mail, and office automation software. Must be well organized, creative, and detail oriented. Must be assertive, flexible, demonstrate initiative, and use sound judgment. Must be able to work well within a team environment and be a positive influence on his/her user community. Must possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Must have excellent decision-making skills. Must maintain indefinite confidentiality with all sensitive information that he/she has the privilege to due to support activities access. Must pass a post-offer medical exam, including background verification and drug screen. *Preferred Education, Skills & Experience* Experience with object-oriented programming and application development such as VB.net, Java, Python, C++ objective C, or MS SQL is a plus. Experience with SAP OData services, BAPI’s, BADI’s, and user-exit development.
