Position: Senior AWS/Spring Framework API Developer
Location: Hartford, CT
Duration: 6 months
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, code, and implement highly scalable and reliable APIs and data centric cloud applications.
- Deliver on all phases of development work from initial kick-off, technical setup, application development, and support.
- Identify exciting opportunities for adopting new technologies to solve existing needs and predicting future challenges
- Perform ongoing refactoring of code, utilizing visualization and other techniques to fast track concepts, and delivering continuous improvement
- Manage your own time, and work well both independently with self-direction and as part of a team
- Quickly generate and update proof of concepts for testing and team feedback
- Embrace emerging standards while promoting best practices
Required skills:
- Highly skilled in Spring: Spring Boot, Spring REST, Spring MVC
- Java 8 and above expertise / asynchronous programming is a plus.
- RESTful service design, documentation, and implementation experience; AWS API Gateway experience preferred
- Expertise in designing technical solutions using object-oriented design concepts, DDD, functional programing and microservices design patterns.
- Experience working with container-based solutions (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, EKS, Fargate.)
- Development experience on the AWS serverless platform is highly preferred (Lambda, S3, Cognito, DynamoDB, API Gateway, SNS, Kinesis).
- Knowledge of Apache Hadoop, Apache Spark (including pyspark), Spark streaming, Kafka, Scala, Python, MapReduce, Yarn, Hive, Oozie, SQL, Impala, HBase
- AWS architecture including: IAM, ELB, EC2, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, Lambda, Cloudformation, Cloudfront, Autoscaling, Data Pipeline, Route53, AWS IAM, AWS Config, and AWS key management
- Hands on experience with JUnit, end to end testing. TDD based application development is a plus.
- DevOps mindset and experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Gitlab-CI, etc.)
- Experience with disciplined software development lifecycle, Agile Scrum methodology.
