Job Description

An order management architect is expected to be knowledgeable in multiple
technologies including Sterling OMS, Java/J2EE and knowledge of new
technologies like cloud implementation and application of  microservices in
Order Management solution.

Qualifications

These professionals typically work with Solution Architects to develop a
system capable of responding to a task within reasonable time.  They
analyze the system deployments, hardware sizing, load balancing, high
availability and system redundancies.
- Has worked on IBM Sterling Order Management System for around 10+ years.
- Very familiar with Application Server(Weblogic, Websphere, JBOSS), Data
Base Servers(Oracle, SQL Server, DB2), load balancers, intranet and
internet deployments
- At least 3 years of experience in a consulting firm delivering solutions
as an architect
- Well versed with architecture trends with an eye on market and future
direction
- Skilled in preparing and presenting technical documents.

Travel

50-75% travel

Education Qualifications

- Has a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with specialization in Computer
Science/Electrical and Electronics

Certifications (Preferred)

- DB2 certified professional/Oracle DB certified professional
- IBM certified Application Server/Oracle certified Application Server

Minimum Expectations

- Completely understand Sterling Commerce MCF application - its
capabilities and limitations
- Has done client facing roles
- Take part in architectural discussions. Understand the system interaction
of Sterling applications with
- Ability to independently conduct a workshop
- Very clear written and verbal communication
- Understands systematic design process, has worked with clear case and IBM
Rational Rose

Common Responsibilities

- Responsible for taking part in Architecture discussions and present
options in a resource constrained environment - Ensure the technical
directions and choices
- Anticipate on technological evolutions
- Build durable architectures - Independence with regard to API/framework
providers
- Promote genericity and abstraction
- Bridge between developers, project managers, and business experts
- Know how to configure, extend or customize the Sterling application to
meet a business requirement
- Review coding standards, look critically into Performance and Performance
engineering
- Develop templates, frameworks and design patterns and use them in the
projects

Supervisory Responsibility

- Lead and execute a small team for performance testing and performance
tuning Sterling Commerce implementation

Software Tools

- Proficient in Development tools, IDE and Java, J2EE, J2ME design patterns
