POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Systems Engineer's role is to design, build, implement and
otherwise ensure that all server and storage platforms and related
components are operational and highly available. This includes ensuring the
availability of client/server applications, configuring new infrastructure
and developing processes and procedures for ongoing management of the server
environment.

This role also serves as an escalation resource to the IT Service Desk team
when major system issues are encountered. This role may serve as a project
manager or team lead for initiatives involving major computer technology
implementations.

 

PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES PERFORMED BY THE INCUMBENT.

*         Develop strategies for client/server implementations and build /
maintain the infrastructure required to support those strategies

*         Assist in the design and testing of new server systems and
applications.  Conduct capacity planning as needed

*         Lead, coordinate and participate in key process improvements as
they relate to the client/server environment

*         Coordinate and collaborate with network engineering, business
application, database administration and desktop support functions to ensure
availability, reliability and scalability of corporate servers to meet
business demands

*         Conduct research on server hardware, software and monitoring tools
in support of procurement and development efforts

*         Monitor help desk database for server availability issues;

REQUIREMENTS

*         Proficient at server load balancing, clustering and high
availability architecture

*         Specific knowledge of Microsoft core server platforms and Active
Directory required 

*         Experience installing and configuring server hardware, including
SAN storage and tape backup

*         Experience with server performance tuning and monitoring tools

Job Description:

The Network Engineer is responsible for ensuring the stability and integrity
of in-house voice, data, video and wireless network services. The Engineer
assists in designing, implementing and maintaining the local area networks
(LANs) and wide area networks (WANs) across the organization. The Network
Engineer participates in the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support,
and optimization of all network hardware, software, and communication links.

noted trends to minimize the potential for repeat incidents that may lead
to, or result in, the issuance of Product Discards, Field Actions, or
Recalls. The position requires working with minimal supervision to manage

*       Responsible for ensuring compliance with relevant Standard Operating

Will provide successful architecture, design and implementation of
ServiceNow discovery solutions. This role will develop and support discovery
patterns, Probes, sensors and technical solutions that satisfy the
ServiceNow ITOM business needs of the BTS organization. This role will work
with the IT Service Management leadership, IT service owners, process
owners, development teams and various service delivery groups. This position
places special emphasis on the analysis and implementation of discovery
functions that support ITIL Configuration Management and ITOM related
processes. While this is a technical position where server and network
technical experience is very important, this position will also require
