Title: Systems Administrator - R&D Applications
Location: Plymouth, Minnesota
Duration: 9 Months+
Rate: $ 52/HR (max)
Locals Only (Onsite work Required, No remote option)
Job Summary:
The Systems Administrator will be directly involved in configuration,
testing and implementation of new and existing Windows client and server
systems. This role will provide expertise that is critical in assisting
with the identification of opportunities for the effective use of technology
and the implementation and support of IT applications and solutions for
Client Medical Device Research and Development teams. The candidate will
work with engineering customers in the functional areas of mechanical /
electrical CAD, data vaulting, computational modeling, simulation and
statistics.
Job Duties:
List the significant/essential duties, tasks or responsibilities which
employees in this position are required to perform.
. Provide high touch, one on one business assistance for new
projects, enhancements and support
. Provide level three support for Client/Remedy ITSS incidents and
work orders
. Work between vendors to resolve issues beyond level three
capability
. Maintain application license server software and license
framework, such as Flex LM
. Maintain server software updates
. Maintain client software updates
. Maintain server and application alerting information
. Manage additional capabilities and integrations with other
applications
. Interaction with product development applications
. Work with various IT groups for support of R&D teams
. Maintain documentation for all applications for internal and
external teams
. Communication timely and precisely with business partners and IT
teams
. Batch file scripting and visual basic code understanding
. Establishes technology standards for development and maintenance
of new and existing systems, makes recommendations for improvement
. Collaborates customers to ensure user requirements are complete
and concise, confirming that changes and enhancements meet technical
specifications and user requirements
. Provides solid test designs, develops test cases and performs
execution/documentation of test cases
. Provides support to existing applications and resolves business
and technical problems
. Keeps informed of trends and new developments in technology to
better advise management of means to accomplish business and information
systems goals
. Communicates effectively with management to enhance their
understanding of the opportunities and limitations of information systems
. Adheres to system change control processes and procedures
. Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations,
other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures,
processes, and task assignments.
. Maintains positive and cooperative communications and
collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and
vendors
. Performs other related duties and responsibilities, on occasion,
as assigned
Equipment: List the type of equipment the incumbent will utilize in this
position.
Works with standard office equipment such as telephone, cellular phone,
fax/copier, and a personal computer with standard office software.
Working Conditions: Describe the work environment characteristics
representative of those encountered by an employee performing the essential
functions of this job.
Work environment varies from well lighted office/cubicle, low to moderate
noise level, to a variety of conditions caused by travel requirements such
as customer offices, research labs, hospitals, hotels, use of automobiles,
commercial travel, weather, etc.
Physical Demands: Describe the physical demands representative of those that
must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions
of this job.
Activities require a significant amount of sitting in front of a computer
monitor, some standing and walking. Significant use of hands and arms, plus
finger dexterity to reach, point, write, type, operate a computer and other
office equipment. Performs tasks that regularly require good correctable
vision and hand/eye coordination. Activities also require significant use of
voice and hearing for discussions with other employees.
Qualifications: Describe the minimum education and experience, including
knowledge, skills and abilities, required to successfully perform the job.

General Qualifications
. Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent
experience
. 5+ years of technical experience
. 5+ years of experience translating business requirements into
technical designs
. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Able to
bridge communication between technical areas and business areas for a full
and complete understanding of expectations
. Ability to multi-task efficiently on parallel efforts
. Ability to drive requirements and project work through to closure
* Experience in reviewing technical designs, and experience in code
reviews - providing feedback on whether the technical design and code
satisfies functional specifications
. Training and experience in good test design; experience writing
test cases and reviewing/approving the execution of those test cases
. Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross-division business
unit model preferred
. Ability to work in a highly matrix and geographically diverse
business environment
. Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in
a fast-paced, changing environment
. Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects
* Ability to travel approximately 10%, including internationally
* Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance
Specific Qualifications
. Knowledge of R&D hardware platforms such as Windows and Linux high
performance compute clusters
. Proven process knowledge and the ability to communicate with other
designers and design managers.
. Working closely in a professional manner with business partners
and in workshops and then developing, documenting, and testing standard
configurations for use in the environment.
. Experience with any PLM system would be a plus
. Ability to remote into customer systems using SCCM, Bomgar or RDP
or other similar tools
