*Role: SQL Server DBA* *Location – Remote (Occasional travel Required)* *Boca Raton, FL* *Job Description:* - Monitor all Microsoft SQL database servers and instances. Patch all Microsoft SQL database instances. Database server operating system patching and upgrades. Install, upgrade and configure any Microsoft SQL database servers and instances. Continue backup and disaster recovery strategy currently in place or create a new backup and disaster recovery process for all Microsoft SQL database servers and instances. - Provide recovery services from all backups for databases as needed by the University. Monitor backups and verification of backups. Create accounts and apply permissions to databases, tables and all other objects within the Microsoft SQL database environment. Run database scripts provided by the University as needed. Provide migration services as necessary, moving databases to new servers, re-configuring the databases, etc. - Perform cloning and replication services. Perform proactive log reviews as necessary to keep all systems healthy. Troubleshoot any issues with the database servers and instances. Work with third-party vendors when necessary and when it relates to application using any of the supported databases. Configure and maintain proper security setups for Microsoft SQL. - *Install, update and configure any SSL certificates or any encryption that is required on Microsoft SQL databases.* Perform tuning and adjustments to database servers and instances. Microsoft SQL Server Clustering Management. Microsoft SQL License management and alerting. Scheduled jobs maintenance. Agent and service up monitoring. Locked record and user management and release. Job monitoring and reporting. - Monitoring of log sizes and health. Table space and sever space monitoring, alerting and remediation. Compression and full management of database logs. Work with the University’s change management process for all production changes. Provide strategic direction towards future upgrades due to growth or product end of life notices.
