This effort could run at least 12 to 18 months and the onsite work would be at DPOR's 9960 Mayland Drive offices at the beginning until telework is determined and evaluated. No time limit on the remote piece - just when the mgr is comfortable. This will be determined during the assessment phase. Pls make sure your candidate is aware of this. Does your candidate agree to interview ON SITE if selected? *ABOUT THE ROLE* JAVA programmer/analyst needed to support DPOR's mission critical IT systems and serve as the backup for other resources as needed. Resource is needed who possesses the following skills to support DPOR's mission critical IT systems: Hands on experience with Java 1.5 to 1.8(minimum) with working knowledge on the custom-built jars Strong working experience on the Java/J2EE applications. Experience with deploying and debugging the applications on Orion, Jboss, Tomcat server is must. Oracle DB experience. Working experience on the SOAP based web service to integrate to the existing code is must. Good working knowledge on the Linux and Windows environments (deploying applications, troubleshooting, SSL certificates installation etc.) is must. JavaScript, BootStrap, JSP, HTML is must. Production support. Experience with ANT based applications. Good understanding of the client server architecture, OS level, Application level, VM architecture (Both Windows and Linux). Should be able to perform the DevOps role (making the config changes, deploying the application to the Prod and other lower environments etc.) when needed. Understanding knowledge on the existing shell scripts. Experience working on the Windows/Linux batch jobs and troubleshooting when needed. Working experience with RHEL 5 and above highly desired Working experience with Oracle DBMS 11g R2 and above Working experience installing and troubleshooting Oracle client connectivity components including tnsnames files and Oracle Insta client Design, develop and troubleshoot using the open-source tools like: Eclipse, Putty, Postman etc. Working experience on the Linux environment with Apache web server. Hands on experience understanding and troubleshooting the java code flow with Struts 1. Experience with ORM tools, hibernate in specific. Working experience on the three-tier architecture. *PREFERRED* Good working knowledge on Power Builder is preferred but not required (willing to learn). Experience with migration project to different Java versions is preferred.
