*Job Title: Lead Java Software Engineer (Microservices & Data Engineering)* *Location: Richmond, VA (Hybrid), local only - Face to Face interview* *Job Type: Contract (9-Month Duration)* Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Lead Java Software Engineer to join our team on a 9-month contract. This hybrid role, based in Richmond, VA, focuses on leading the design and development of scalable microservices, APIs, and data pipelines using modern Java-based technologies and cloud platforms. The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical leader who can drive architecture decisions, mentor engineers, and deliver high-performance solutions in a fast-paced environment. *Basic Qualifications* - Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field - 8–10 years of professional experience in microservices/API development using Java and Spring Boot - 8–10 years of experience building scalable data pipelines using Spark/Java and Spring Boot - 8–10 years of experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud) *Preferred Qualifications* - Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field - 10+ years of experience in microservices/API development using Java and Spring Boot - 10+ years of experience building scalable data pipelines - 10+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or similar cloud platforms - 10+ years of experience working with open-source frameworks *Key Responsibilities* Lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable microservices and APIs Architect and oversee the implementation of high-performance data pipelines Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to engineering team members Collaborate with stakeholders to define system architecture and technical strategy Drive best practices in coding, testing, performance optimization, and scalability Ensure successful delivery of cloud-based solutions using modern platforms -- You received this message because you are subscribed to "rtc-linux".
