Second guessing those kind of decisions is a big part of the fun. A lot of Bama folks have second guessed Bama's fake FG try in yesterday's first half too. Bottom line, if Thomas had caught the pitch cleanly, it was a TD. It looked like he sorta short armed it by taking his eye off the ball for a split second and just fumbled off his finger tips. I thought it was a good call, just hated to see it botched.
