Does anyone know what the deal is with this?
I just don't understand it. Both teams need this game IMO.
Penn State is trying to get back to a power and the best way would be to
play heavy hitters like Bama.
I just don't get it.
Kinda makes me mad....who is trying to get out of it? Us or Them???

Does anyone have any info on this and why they would try to get out of the
game?
weird.

Alabama series vs. PSU in jeopardy

By Rob Biertempfel

Alabama will drop off Penn State's football schedule in 2004, and will be
replaced by Central Florida.

Thursday, UCF sports information director John Marini confirmed a plan is in
place for the Golden Knights to make their second visit to Beaver Stadium on
Sept. 18, 2004 -- the same day Alabama had been slated to play the Nittany
Lions.

A few details -- including fitting in another UCF-Penn State game sometime
between 2005 and 2009 -- still must be worked out before the contract is
finalized. Both games will be played at Penn State.
