Good Morning Bama Fans...It's a wonderful day in the neighborhood!!!!!!! The football gods smiled on the South this weekend. Bama won and allbarn lost. There is normalcy once again in the SEC.
Lets' start by reporting that the HWFC tailgating session was a complete success. Myslef and date got to the Tide N Tiger at about 7:15. That's AM for you sleepy heads. Except for the vendors, we were the first one's there. But not long after we started un-packing the truck, the lot started to fill up. $15 to park, then another $10 to secure room to tailgate. And if you don't pay the $10, Mr. Lot Boss will park a car within 2 inches of your car to make sure you don't tailgate!!! Seemed kinda silly, but he's da Boss. About an hour later, the Rice's came slumming in. Course I had to pay for their parking up-front and hold their space. Soon the tunes were kicking (Thanks to Velvet Leggs for the sound system) and the liquor was flowing (Thanks to The Queen for the punch). I had my customary 4 beers while putting together the grill, then switched to tequila and orange-pineapple juice for installation of the game-face. Without going into details, let's simply say that Ron seriously needs help in the "I-got-that-White-man's-rhythm" dance area. He wuz toe-up from the flo-up!!!! Sonja didn't lose any of her game over the off-season. Her charm and wit were as sharp as ever. Rumor has it that instead of a drop top 'Cedes she's looking into the possibility of acquiring a Mini-Cooper. Do they come with a bench seat in front. That is a must-have for her. Hot? Dayum right it was hot. If hadda worn underwear it would have been stuck to me like Roy's supporters to that rock. Sonja brought the new 'football idol' to the meeting. It's a little wooden figurine with f-ed up hair and a beer belly. On the bottom it sez "Hawaii" in big letters, so we're using it as a good luck god until we get to the islands. Each week we make a little shrine for it so we can pray to the football gods for victory. I think his name is Brady in remembrance of that Brady Bunch episode where they found that wooden god while in Hawaii. Marsha in a thong......what memories..... Ours had to be the loudest tailgate session for miles around. Nothing beats listening to a rap - I mean, Christian - Cd as loud as it will go and skipping all the time. Velvet is to look into the technical difficulties and give a full report later. Many, many folks stopped by or were simply draw by the combination of the grilling smoke and the noise coming from area. There are some unique individuals who will skip that trailer payment just to see a Bama football game. Bless their hearts...Oh, Hi Scotty!!!! After the game, we broke out the TV and watched USC bend allbarn over and make them touch their toes. Nothing like sitting in a mostly deserted parking lot and listening to the various scattered out tailgaters watching the same game and cheering each time allbarn screwed up. A smooth ride home was followed by watching some football team from Mississippi get beat by a bunch of Ducks. I think MSU is a 6 point underdog this weekend against the University of Open. Preliminary plans call for the first 2003 HWFC meeting in T-Town to begin around 7:00 Saturday. Yes, that's AM again. Y'all make plans to stop by and bring me a beer. Make sure you pay homage to the Brady also. I'll hold his beer until he's ready for it. Keep it Rolling..... ______________________________________________________ RollTideFan - The University of Alabama Athletics Discussion List "Welcome to RollTideFan! Wear a cup!"
