Sucked really really bad tonight. We couldn't have hit a basketball with a boat paddle. Errors, Allen Rice overthrew 1st after an outstanding stop but he should have held the ball. Too many past balls by the catcher (I'll be glad when Charlie Lyons is healthy). Evan Bush missed a fly ball which ultimately cost us the game. He was immediately removed & replaced by Matt Grooms. Tank had to come in & finish the game, but it was too late because we couldn't hit shit in the ninth. It was an overall disgusting & humiliating effort. Even Jim Wells disappointed me when BCS had a runner on 1st, 1 out & we intentionally walked the next batter because he had already hit a home run. Makes sense so far except for the fact that the next batter had also hit a home run. The only bright spot was freshman Emeel Salem (yes, he is related to Ed). He played center field & was the only player that left there with a dirty uniform. BCS sucks!! I've been to the home games for Samford & UAB & they both showed a lot more class than BCS. Their student section was located directly on top of BAMA's dugout & they continuously stomped & yelled obscenities. They never once announced our batters & were generally a rude group of people. We sat next to a retired SEC ump that was kind enough to point out how we were robbed of 2 runs. Regardless, we still looked like shit & I doubt that I will ever return to that stadium. Besides that, I think there were probably about 4 BAMA fans at the game which didn't help, but that was ok because I was louder than all of them until I lost my voice. If we can't start hitting consistently, we are going to be in for a long season.
