How stupid. First of all, anyone who has ever been on a football field will tell you that the scenario below is all but impossible. As soon as the kick is faked and the ball is thrown 11 guys on the field and 100 people on one sideline will be screaming "FAKE!" and no dumbass would ever run from the ball.
There is also no way the SEC can enact a field rule on it's own. It has to be (unfortunately) the NCAA. Now, as far as calling the offending player's name after a penalty, I think it's dumb but I can see where the SEC has that right in SEC games but not in non-conference games. Just my 2¢...
