KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Defensive back Brandon Johnson, who had two interceptions for Tennessee <http://msn.foxsports.com/cfb/team/86099> at Mississippi <http://msn.foxsports.com/cfb/team/86102>, was suspended indefinitely Monday for violation of team rules.
Coach Phillip Fulmer also dismissed junior defensive back Chris Heath, who had been on a medical scholarship this season. Fulmer did not say what the violations were.

"Our players are taught to be responsible and accountable," Fulmer said. "These two young men did not act in a responsible manner, and will be held accountable."

Johnson, whose picks helped the Vols <http://msn.foxsports.com/cfb/team/86099> to a 21-17 victory Saturday, has been placed on indefinite non-participant status pending an investigation by the athletic department and the university's student conduct office. A decision on any further action would be made following the investigation, Fulmer said.
